Explanation:
Captain America is a comic book superhero who made his first appearance in 1941 under the title of CAPTAIN AMERICA COMICS issue number 1. Created to be a hero in a time of war, Captain America became famous for fighting the real life villany of communism, nazis, and Hitler (complete with a cover illustration of "Cap'" punching Hitler in the jaw.) In the comics he was part of an experiment to create the "Perfect Solider," and the then young recruit Steve Rodgers took part in a test of "Super-Soldier Serum," and a series of "Vita-rays," and the result transformed him into Captain America. During the war Cap' became frozen in a block of ice and drifted out to sea. He was found and awaken two decades later in the world of the 1960's "free thinking" and rebellion, a time when representing America was anything but heroic. It was also revealed to him that the serum used to create his super-powers was created by using blacks and prisoners-of-war as test subjects. Disillusioned and confused, Captain America abandoned his title for a time to become The Nomad, until he remembered what made him a hero in the first place.
